Where tamales fit

Four moments in a celebration

Rehearsal dinner

Family-style trays of pork and chicken tamales with rice and salsas. Relaxed, generous, and nobody is carving anything.

Reception station

A self-serve tamale station alongside the main menu, or as the main menu. Labeled by filling, with crema and salsas.

Late-night snack

Hot tamales at ten o’clock, delivered to the venue on schedule. The Texas reception tradition guests love most. Read why it works.

The quinceañera

Two hundred guests, three generations, and a menu that respects the tradition. See quinceañera food ideas.

Why families choose tamales

Tradition on the table, and a host who gets to enjoy the party.

For many families in North Texas, a celebration without tamales is not a celebration. The trouble is that making them for two hundred people takes two days and every pot in the house. We take that part. The recipe is the one our own family cooks from, the masa is gluten-free and made fresh, and every tamal is wrapped by hand the morning of your event.

Because tamales hold heat in the husk, they survive the gap between the ceremony and the meal, the toasts that run long, and the late-night rush. And because they scale by the dozen, a headcount that moves by twenty guests is a text, not a crisis.

  • Mixed fillings, labeled. Half pork, half chicken is the usual split for a big family crowd.
  • Buffet-ready. Salsas, crema, utensils and serving spoons on request.
  • Venue rules? Tell us about loading docks, kitchen access and timing and we plan around them.

Wedding & quinceañera FAQ

Planning questions

How far ahead should we book a wedding or quinceañera?

As early as you can, ideally as soon as the date and venue are set. Weekend dates and the weeks around the holidays fill first. Send the request with the date and a rough headcount; the quote adjusts as your numbers firm up.

Can you deliver late in the evening for a late-night snack?

Yes. Late-night service is planned in advance with the venue: we agree the time, the drop-off point and how the tamales are kept hot until they go out. Tell us the venue and the program in the request.

Do you provide serving equipment?

We deliver hot and ready to serve, and can bring salsas, crema, utensils and serving spoons for a self-serve station. If the venue provides chafing dishes, we pack to fit them; tell us what is on site.

Can guests with gluten intolerance eat the tamales?

All tamales are made with gluten-free corn masa. We are not a certified gluten-free facility (burritos with flour tortillas are made in the same kitchen), so tell us about celiac guests and we will keep their portions separate.

How is a celebration order priced?

By headcount and menu. Tamales are $60 per dozen at menu price; the quote adds any sides, salsas and the delivery plan for your venue. Maggie confirms everything in writing before the event.

Do you travel outside Richardson for weddings?

Yes. Plano, Frisco, Allen, McKinney, Dallas and the northern suburbs are our regular area, and larger celebrations can travel farther. See the delivery area and ask about your venue.

Planning the big day?

Send the date, the venue and a rough headcount. Maggie replies with a menu and a price, and the quote grows with your guest list.
